The four principle functions of Yancey County Emergency Management are: preparedness, response, recovery and mitigation in planning for natural and man-made disasters.
The department consists of two employees; the Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator. The goal of the Department is to assist the various fire, rescue, law enforcement, support agencies and citizens of Yancey County in planning for natural disasters, such as floods, hurricanes, winter storms and man-made disasters such as chemical spills. |
